If you follow my Instagram or Facebook page, you already know it's been a great week of photos both on land and in the air with my drone. This week's Photo of the Week is a bit of a departure from the usual landscape photos. I picked this photo because I'm particularly drawn to the golden hour light on this gorgeous Egret.

I had completed a drone flight prior to this, and headed over to Huntington Beach State Park since it was near by. In anticipation of an upcoming trip to Alaska, I wanted to test out a 1.4x Extender on my trusty EF 100-400 III lens. It gives me a reach of 560mm on the Canon R6. (Yeah, it's a heavy set up) I must say the combination exceeded my expectations.

Shot taken from the Causeway at Huntington Beach State Park, this Egret is stunning in the golden hour light. Like she's looking right at you, peeking through the morning golden light out of the shadows.
